Ready to Improve Your Speech?
Take your speaking skills to the next level with personalized pronunciation training.
The first step is to pinpoint exactly what’s been holding you back. Get the clarity you need.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What is pronunciation training?
A person’s native language can sometimes interfere with their ability to effectively communicate in English.
Accent and pronunciation training takes into consideration: the sound/feature differences from your native language.
This information is then used to create a highly personalized and systematic approach for improving your accent and pronunciation.
The primary goal of accent and pronunciation training is not to remove your current accent (unless this is your explicit end-goal).
Instead the primary goal is: to ensure you’re clearly understood in everyday conversations.
Pronunciation training will help you feel more comfortable and confident while speaking in English: whether socially or professionally.
What accents do you teach?
Accent services are currently taught in the General American English accent.
Also known as the Standard American Accent. This is a neutral and widely-spoken version of American English.
Other accents are available upon request.
What are sessions like?
Kelly will provide sessions that are: custom-tailored to your specific speech & pronunciation goals.
You will receive immediate feedback throughout the entire session.
Each session will address one target sound or feature (in a variety of contexts); and use high-frequency vocabulary–relevant to your daily activities!
You can expect to experience things like: listening drills, sound/word level drills, reading exercises and conversational activities.
Vocabulary is personalized to your professional and/or educational goals so that you can speak clearly and naturally in your everyday life.
Afterwards, homework is assigned (per your request) to help you continue practicing what you’ve just learned.
How many sessions do I need?
This depends on the results from your assessment.
The assessment protocol will identify and rate your current accent against your desired accent (e.g. a standard American accent).
Kelly will then analyze the accent features phonetically and determine the degree of variance between your current speech patterns and your overall goal.
This information will be used to determine the number of sessions required to address your unique speaking needs.
In general, 12-15 sessions are recommended in order to start noticing meaningful and long-lasting changes in your speaking skills.
When will I see improvements?
-You can expect to experience improvement your very first session!
You can expect for others to notice your improvement within your first 4-6 sessions.
Naturally, results will vary based on:
-your baseline skills
-your willingness to regularly implement what you’re learning
-your motivation to practice regularly
Clients who make the most improvement are the ones who:
-keep a consistent training schedule (which includes daily at-home practice).
Each coaching session is designed to maximize your learning & success.
